When: 6pm-8pm, Wednesday 25 February
Where: Bayview Room, Parks Hall, Newcombe St, Portarlington
As part of the Sustainable Living Festival, we are hosting an environmental event in conjunction with Geelong Sustainability, SiP (Staying in Portarlington) and Future Proofing Geelong.
The aim is to raise awareness about the environmental damage caused by coastal pollution. Special guest, Tim Silverwood, an award-winning environmentalist and founder of ‘Take 3 for the Sea’, will discuss his research on ocean plastic from within Australia and around the world. This will be followed by a film screening of ‘Baykeepers’, a thought-provoking film on the impact of plastic consumption on Port Phillip Bay. Practical discussion will follow on simple steps we can all take to reduce our impact. Participants will receive a free beach tidy bag designed by Port PS children.
