Camper feedback and new Fee changes

Thanks to all of you who participated in our fee review. The response to our call for input was fantastic – over 400 campers and community members provided feedback through the Listening Posts, via the online survey or by email.

As a result of your feedback, the new Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management has made a number of important decisions.

New Fee Structure

We have decided to discard the tariff model proposed in December. Instead, we will implement an across the board 4% increase, rounded to the nearest dollar, to all sites for next year’s Holiday Park camping rates. Your feedback indicated that this was the most equitable approach.

We would like to apologise to campers who would have received a tariff decrease under the formerly proposed model. We hope you will not be unnecessarily impacted by the withdrawal of this proposal.

Two other key issues stood out from the camper feedback – the new re-booking system and the quality of cleaning of amenities.

Re-booking Procedure

The introduction of a new re-booking procedure with a ‘book and deposit before departure’ policy was found by many to be confusing and may have caught out a number of our loyal and long term campers.

The Committee has decided to grant a ‘one-off’ amnesty for any camper who did not re-book on time this year. This applies exclusively to the 2014/15 season minimum seven day reservations. If you would like to re-book the same site for the same dates for the next season, please contact Sue Pollard at the Portarlington office on 1800 222 778.

This opportunity will close at 5pm on Wednesday 22 April 2015. There is a $150 deposit payable at the time of booking.

Quality of cleaning

Many of you indicated a level of dissatisfaction with the quality of the cleaning services. As a result we have met with our contractor to explain the concerns and our expectations that they lift their performance. We expect that you will see immediate improvements when you next stay at our Holiday Parks.
